The Broken Mountain
The mountain surrounding the city of Kastah is known as the Broken Mountain. Since the last eruption very few people has seen these areas as most of the mountain got shattered and divided. The academy also decided to seal the passage through the mountain into Ethna to prevent more deaths from inexperienced explorers.
The only surviving humanoid race living this close to the volcano is the Ogre's. Their powerful shamans has found a way to protect themselves from the wrath of the volcano, allowing them to survive through all eruptions. By enslaving Minotaurs from the mainland the Ogre's could quickly rebuild their infrastructure and establish themselves once again on the island.
Up on the warm and desolate peaks of the mountain the Giant Roc's has built nests. The birds can rarely be seen by the Kastari but as food run scarce in the mountain they usually come down towards the city and attack the local wildlife and livestock animals there.
